The Verbandsgemeinde Elbe-Heide is a regional authority in the northeast of the Börde district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Member municipalities

The community association Elbe-Heide consists of seven member communities:

geography

The association is located between the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide and the Elbe , which is where the name came from.

history

The Verbandsgemeinde was founded on January 1, 2010, it takes over the administrative tasks of the administrative community Elbe-Heide , which was dissolved at the same time , as well as some tasks that were previously with the member communities.

Against the background of the municipal area reform, which stipulates that member municipalities of an association municipality must have at least 1000 inhabitants and the number of member municipalities must not exceed eight, the following changes were made on the same day:

  • The communities Heinrichsberg (381 inhabitants) and Loitsche (655 inhabitants) merged to form the municipality Loitsche-Heinrichsberg (1,036 inhabitants).
  • The municipalities of Born (230 inhabitants), Hillersleben (808 inhabitants) and Neuenhofe (771 inhabitants) merged to form the municipality of Westheide (1,809 inhabitants).
  • The municipalities of Burgstall (595 inhabitants), Cröchern (274 inhabitants), Dolle (557 inhabitants) and Sandbeiendorf (277 inhabitants) merged to form the new municipality of Burgstall (1,703 inhabitants).
  • The municipalities of Angern (1,302 inhabitants), Bertingen (184 inhabitants), Mahlwinkel (576 inhabitants) and Wenddorf (110 inhabitants) merged to form the new municipality of Angern (2,172 inhabitants).

The specified population figures refer to the key date December 31, 2008.

The reorganization of the municipality of Lindhorst as the 8th member municipality from a part of the municipality of Colbitz failed, despite multiple clear votes from the citizens of the Lindhorst district and the fulfillment of all requirements, initially due to a decision by the Colbitz municipal council and initially finally to a referendum on June 7, 2009 in of the entire Colbitz community to the no votes in the Colbitz district.

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved by the district on February 18, 2010.

Blazon : "A blue gopel in gold, covered with a flying silver lark."

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch . The coat of arms of the previous administrative association Elbe-Heide served as a template for the coat of arms, whereby only color changes can be determined. The redesign was only necessary due to the re-establishment of the association.

flag

The flag is blue - white - blue (1: 4: 1) striped (horizontal shape: stripes running horizontally, lengthways shape: stripes running vertically) and centered with the municipal coat of arms.

traffic

The federal road 189 leads through the municipality area . After the completion of the federal motorway 14 , which is in the planning stage, there will be the Colbitz and Burgstall junctions. The American Line also runs through the area.
