In the administrative community Gramme-Vippach from the Thuringian district of Sömmerda , twelve municipalities joined forces on December 31, 2019 to handle their administrative business. The seat of the administrative community is in Schloßvippach . A good 9,100 people live in an area of 131.53 km².
The name refers on the one hand to the Gramme , a tributary of the Unstrut , which runs from south to north through the area, and on the other hand to the Vippach , a right tributary of the Gramme.
In the south-west the administrative community borders directly on the state capital Erfurt .

history
The administrative community emerged from the merger of the administrative communities An der Marke and Gramme-Aue in accordance with the “Thuringian Law on the Voluntary Restructuring of Municipalities in the Year 2019” .
Initially, the administrative community was led by the mayor of Udestedt Gunnar Dieling as a representative, since April 1, 2020 Ulrich Georgi has been in office as the full-time community chairman.

The A 71 with exit 6 "Sömmerda-Süd" and several state roads run through the area of the administrative community . In the south, the high-speed railway line Erfurt – Leipzig / Halle cuts the area, the only station is in Großrudestedt on the Sangerhausen – Erfurt railway line .
