Viesturs Meijers (born December 5, 1967 in Limbaži ) is a Latvian chess player .
He has held the title of International Master since 1993, and in 2004 he achieved the standard of chess grandmaster. Meijers part in the Chess Olympiads in 2000 , 2004 , 2006 , 2008 and 2010 and the European Team Championship 2001 Latvian team. In 2000 he won first place at the Latvian Championships . Meijers plays club chess in Germany for ESV Nickelhütte Aue (including in the 2010/11 season in the 1st Bundesliga ), he won the Swedish Elitserien in the 1998/99 season with Sollentuna SK , with whom he also played at the European Club in 1999 Cup participated.
Meijers lives and works in Germany.
