Viktor Vladimirovich Antipin ( Russian Виктор Владимирович Антипин ; born December 6, 1992 in Ust-Kamenogorsk ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with SKA Saint Petersburg in the continental hockey league since May 2020 .

Career

Wiktor Antipin began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , for whose second team he made his debut in the third-rate Pervaya League in the 2008/09 season . In the 2009/10 season , the defender made his debut for the club's junior team, Stalnye Lissy Magnitogorsk, in the newly formed multinational youth league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga , in which he and his team won the Kharlamov Cup straight away . He contributed to this success with two goals and nine assists in a total of 44 games. In the 2010/11 season he also made his debut for the professional team of Metallurg in the Continental Hockey League , but remained pointless and punished in his two missions while he continued to play in the MHL. In 2014 he won the KHL championship trophy , the Gagarin Cup , with Metallurg and repeated this success in the 2015/16 season.

In May 2017, Antipin signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Sabers of the National Hockey League (NHL). After that, the defender decided to return to HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk and signed a three-year contract there in July 2018.

After two years and 126 KHL games for Metallurg, he left the club prematurely and moved within the KHL to SKA Saint Petersburg .

International

For Russia, Antipin took part in the U18 World Cup in 2010 and the U20 World Cup in 2012 and won the silver medal in the latter. With the Russian senior team , he won two bronze medals at the 2016 and 2017 world championships .

His father, Vladimir Antipin, was also a professional ice hockey player, but played internationally for Kazakhstan .
