Vila Verde is an East Timorese Suco in the Vera Cruz administrative office ( municipality of Dili ) and part of the state capital Dili .

Vila Verde has 10,351 inhabitants (2015), of which 5,283 are men and 5,068 are women. The population density is 4,334.8 inhabitants / km². There are 1,569 households in the Suco. Almost 96% of the population name Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue. Minorities speak Tetum Terik , Baikeno , Fataluku , Kemak , Makasae or Mambai .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Vila Verde had an area of ​​2.73 km². Now it is 2.39 km². The Suco, which forms a narrow strip in north-south direction, is located in the north of the Vera Cruz administrative office. After the independence of East Timor, Vila Verde was formed from the sucos Hanso Hatora and Haksolok . To the north is the Suco Colmera , to the east, beyond the Avenida Mártires da Pátria , the Sucos Caicoli , Mascarenhas and Lahane Ocidental and southwest of the Suco Dare . To the west, Vila Verde borders the Dom Aleixo administrative office with its Suco Bairro Pite . The western border is followed by the Maloa River in the rainy season .

The northern part of urban Sucos is more densely populated than the south, which still has open spaces and is already significantly higher with hills. In the north are the districts of Vila Verde , Mata Doro , Lafandaria , Virgolosa ( Virdolosa ), Tuanalaran and Manumeta Rahun . Foho Manometa and Foho Lebometa are in the sparsely populated south .

In the Suco there are the nine Aldeias 1 de Setembro , Gideon , Lemorai , Mate Moris , Mate Restu , Matua , Nopen , Terus Nain and Virgolosa .

The Suco has two institutions for further training, three primary schools (including the Escola Primária Tuanalaran and the Escola Primaria No.9 ) and a secondary school.

Other facilities include the San Carlos Preschool ( Escola Pré-primária de San Carlos ), the Dr. Jaime Sarmento ( Clínica Dr. Jaime Sarmento ), the municipal administration, the Ministry of Education , Comissão da Função Pública (CFP) and the District Court of Dili on Rua da Catedral . The Ministry of the Interior is located between Rua da Catedral and Avenida Mártires da Pátria .

The most important religious building is the Catholic cathedral of Dili in the district of Vila Verde. There are also other modern church buildings in the Suco. On Rua da Catedral, opposite the cathedral, a new church of the Assemblies of God ( Igreja Evangélica das Assembleias de Deus em Timor Leste ) with space for around 1000 believers was completed in June 2016 .

In the 2004/2005 elections , Andre dos Santos Fernandes was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Abdul Mancoli Arranhado won .
