World Federation of International Music Competitions

The International Chopin Competition was one of the founding members.

The World Federation of International Music Competitions ( WFIMC ) ( World Federation of International Music Competitions ) is a 1957 founded organization based in Geneva and member of the International Music Council . It lists over 120 international music competitions and aims to promote young talents between the ages of 15 and 35.

Goal setting

In its statutes, the WFIMC differentiates 16 individual goals, including:

  • to support the composition and performance of new works
  • to create and convey a positive image for international music competitions
  • Identify and deal with opportunities and challenges for such competitions
  • to maintain and promote connections and collaborations
