Wachendorf is a district of the city of Syke . Together with the Syker districts of Henstedt , Heiligenfelde , Gödestorf and Jardinghausen , a southern area is formed. Wachendorf includes the historic districts of Borstel, Hillenberg, Kirchberg, Legenhausen, Neddernheide, Vöhrde and the Wachendorf colony.

Wachendorf belongs together with Henstedt, Heiligenfelde, Gödestorf and Jardinghausen to the parish of Heiligenfelde.

Neighboring places

Neighbors of the village of Wachendorf, located on the southeastern edge of Syke, are the Syker districts of Jardinghausen, Heiligenfelde and Gödestorf. To the east it is the Syker neighboring community of Thedinghausen ; in the south it is from the Syker neighboring community Bruchhausen-Vilsen whose community part Süstedt .

Rivers / streams

Wachendorf is far from the main traffic. The next federal road, the B 6 , runs 2.5 km to the west through Heiligenfelde and creates good connections to the north (to Bremen , to the A 1 and the A 27 ) and to the south (to Hanover , to the A 2 ).

In 1974 at the latest, all Wachendorfer streets and some paths were given names. In total there are 23 streets and paths in Wachendorf that have names.   • Rudi Carrell (born December 19, 1934 in Alkmaar, Netherlands as Rudolf Wijbrand Kesselaar, † July 7, 2006 in Bremen) was a Dutch singer, show master and entertainer. From 1975 until his death in July 2006 he lived in the Syker district of Wachendorf. He was buried next to his second wife Anke in the church cemetery in Syke-Heiligenfelde. In April 2007 his property - a wooded area with a mill pond and several houses - was sold and converted into an old people's home.
