Wanluan ( Chinese 萬 巒 鄉 , Pinyin Wànluán Xiāng ) is a rural community in Pingtung County in southern Taiwan . The area is dominated by agriculture on the edge of the Taiwan Central Mountains and is crossed by irrigation canals.

As of 2018, the municipality had a population of 20,918 inhabitants on an area of 60.73 km².
structure
The rural community includes 14 villages: Chengde, Chishan, Jiahe, Jiazuo, Liuhuang, Luliao, Sigou, Wanhe, Wanchin, Wanluan, Wanquan, Wugou, Xincuo and Xinzhi.
Attractions
The Basilica of the Conception of Mary in the Wanchin district is the oldest minor basilica in Taiwan. In the district of Wugou there is a farm of the Liu family as an exemplary settlement of the Hakka . In January 2019, the renovation of an abandoned former Catholic church in Wanluan began. A cultural center for Hakka culture and a center for promoting cocoa cultivation in Taiwan are to be built in the former church building or on the site . Cocoa cultivation, which takes up around 200 hectares in all of Taiwan, is mainly carried out by the Hakka population in Pingtung County.
