Coat of arms of Hamburg
The second coat of arms of Hamburg the HADAG was built to replace the first coat of arms of Hamburg from 1955, like the predecessor ship at Blohm & Voss and put into service in 1962. It was built for the Helgoland ferry service and served the Hamburg- Helgoland- Cuxhaven route in the summer season . After four months in use, it was chartered to the Seaboard & Caribbean Transport Corporation in Liberia for 195 days and transferred to Miami in October 1962 . From there it was used for cruises between Miami and Nassau . At the same time, the Cuban Missile Crisis occurred, which caused the charterer to have financial difficulties. As a result, the ship was chained in mid-December 1962 in the port of Miami. After tough negotiations by HADAG, the ship was released at the end of December 1962 and was returned to Germany. On January 11, 1963, the coat of arms from Hamburg arrived in Hamburg and was subsequently overhauled by Blohm & Voss. It continued to serve the Hamburg-Cuxhaven-Helgoland route in the summer season and was chartered to various operators for the rest of the time and used on various routes in the North and Baltic Seas .
Stena shipping company
On October 13, 1964, the ship was sold to Stena Reederei GmbH in Kiel and renamed Wappen . It drove the routes between Gothenburg , Frederikshavn , Larvik and Sandefjord . From October 17, 1964, it was renamed again and from then on drove under the name Norge Pilen on the Larvik – Gothenburg route. From April 30, 1965, the ship was named Jatten Finn on the Stockholm - Mariehamn route . From October 12, 1965, the name of the ship was changed again: It was now called Mac Finn and served the route Stockholm, Mariehamn and Turku .
Old love 1966–1982
On April 1, 1966, HADAG, Hamburg, bought the ship back and named it Alte Liebe . It was used as a replacement for the Helgoland on the Cuxhaven – Helgoland route. In September 1971 the ship briefly operated the route Travemünde - Rødbyhavn . In 1973 it was used on the Hamburg – Helgoland route. In April 1974 it was rebuilt at the Mützelfeldtwerft in Cuxhaven. There were u. a. the interior was redesigned and the saloon on the main deck was extended. From October 1974 to April 1975 it was used as a restaurant and hotel ship at the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken in Hamburg. Previously, Alte Liebe had been re-registered to KG Alte Liebe Jacobsen, Kröger & Co. , Hamburg. HADAG subsequently used the ship via reverse charter. From September 1975 the ship drove various routes in the North and Baltic Seas, u. a. always in July and August Cuxhaven – Helgoland and the rest of the time Travemünde – Rødbyhavn and Emden - Delfzijl . From 1977 day trips to Rostock-Warnemünde were also made from Travemünde . It was launched in Hamburg in September 1982 .
Heligoland 1984-2004
On May 9, 1984, the D. Oltmann shipping company in Bremen bought the ship and renamed it Helgoland . At the beginning of July 1984 the ship was transferred to Bremerhaven and from the 1985 season drove as the successor to the Roland von Bremen on the route to Helgoland. On December 22nd 1986 the ship was sold to B. Warrings, Carolinensiel Mgr. Bremer-Seebäderdienst GmbH, Bremen, but continued to sail the same route from Bremerhaven to Helgoland. From September 1997 to May 2000 the ship lay in Bremerhaven and then returned on the same route. In April 2004 the Förde Reederei Seetouristik in Flensburg bought the ship. However, the 2004 season was the last in Heligoland traffic.
Supper Club Cruise 02
On August 1, 2005, a Dutch group of investors bought the ship and transferred it to Tuzla , Turkey, with stops in Amsterdam and Gibraltar . The ship was overhauled and preserved there. It was renamed to Supper Clubcruise 02 . From February 23, 2011 she was in the port of Haifa , Israel , at the beginning of 2013 she was towed to Tuzla.
Okra Sultan
In 2014 the ship was renamed Okra Sultan and broken up in Aliağa . Originally the ship was supposed to be converted into a yacht, but the plans were finally abandoned. The superstructures had already been removed beforehand.
