The Wels motorway A 25 ( Linz motorway until 2003 ) is a motorway in Upper Austria . It is part of the Europastraße 552 and connects the West Autobahn (A 1) at the Haid junction with the Innkreis Autobahn (A 8) at the Wels junction . It is one of the shortest motorways in Austria .

The name change came about as a result of the amendment to the Federal Roads Act, which provides for a new motorway to the west of the city of Linz (Linzer Westring A 26 ), referred to as the Linz motorway and at the same time renamed the A 25 the Wels motorway .

The Wels motorway is linked to the Wels-Ost junction with the B 1 , which was planned as the Wels expressway (S 38) between Wels and Linz in the 1970s .
