Werner Prinz

Werner Prinz (* 1941 in Wolfsbach , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian actor and theater director .

Life

Werner Prinz studied law, German and medicine in Vienna from 1963 to 1968. He later took acting classes. In 1968 he founded the Theater der Courage in Vienna together with the directors Dieter Berner and Wolfgang Quetes . In 1972, together with Berner and Quetes, he received the Josef Kainz Medal for directing from the City of Vienna.

From 1976 to 1979 he was engaged as an actor at the Staatstheater Kassel , then at the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Theater Basel . From 1983 to 2006 he was a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Volkstheater . Guest performances have taken him to the Schauspielhaus Zurich , the State Theater Stuttgart , the Renaissance Theater Berlin , the Salzburg State Theater and the City Theater Klagenfurt .

Since 1989 he has staged at the Waldviertler Hoftheater , other of his productions have been shown at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt , the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern , the Landestheater Niederösterreich , the Renaissance Theater Berlin and the Schloss-Spiele Kobersdorf .

From 1999 to 2003, he played the role of Kaspar Lehofer in the television series Julia - An Unusual Woman .
