history
The first documentary mention dates from 1434 as Wernstorff . In 1475 the plague raged in the village , killing over half of the population. With the Reformation in 1539 Wernsdorf came to Parochie Forchheim. In 1559 the lords of Berbisdorf settled in Forchheim, and Wernsdorf was one of the villages belonging to the manor district. In 1742 a fire raged in the Allodialgut , but it was rebuilt by a new owner. In 1752 the place got its own school, in 1836 it was replaced by a new building in which the students from Nennigmühle are also taught. In 1760 a grinding mill was mentioned, it was later extended to a cutting mill. In 1906 the mill fell victim to a fire caused by lightning and was never rebuilt. In 1858 Nennigmühle was incorporated. By Wilhelm von Herder on Rauenstein was in Flöhatal a paper mill and between Nennigmühle and Blumenau , the pulp mill Cameroon established. The factory and wood grinding shop were sold to the company "Günther & Richter OHG" in 1906. In 1946 the paper mill's equipment was dismantled. In the course of the land reform in 1950, Wernsdorf had 33 farms with 120 employees, and in 1953 the LPG "Max Roscher" was founded. In 1971/72 the school was rebuilt and expanded, and the dilapidated bell tower was removed. In 1992 the school was finally closed. In the same year the paper mill was re-privatized, but production stopped in 1997. In 2002 the local carving association erected a bell tower in the center of the village, in which the school bell from 1836 has been located ever since.
On March 1, 1994, Wernsdorf was incorporated into Pockau.
