Werve forms the east of the Heeren-Werve district of the Westphalian city ​​of Kamen in the Unna district and has its own small village center. Werve is both rural in Westphalia and from the mining era.

history

Werve part in the establishment of offices in the Prussian province of Westphalia to the Office Camen , then to the Office Unna Kamen in the district Hamm . On the occasion of the city of Hamm on April 1, 1901, the district became the district of Hamm. After an area expansion in 1929, this was renamed the Unna district in October 1930 . On April 1, 1910, Heeren and Werve merged. On January 1, 1968, the previous communities of Derne, Heeren-Werve, Methler, Rottum and Südkamen were merged with the city of Kamen. The previous Unna-Kamen office was dissolved.

In 1849 Werve had 319 inhabitants. In 1895 there were 571 and in 1987 1,800 inhabitants.
