Werve forms the east of the Heeren-Werve district of the Westphalian city of Kamen in the Unna district and has its own small village center. Werve is both rural in Westphalia and from the mining era.

Werve is located in the southeast of the city of Kamen. The Mühlbach separates the place from the neighboring army . The Seseke flows through the north of the local area.

Werve borders in a clockwise direction to the west with the towns of Heeren , Altenbögge , Bramey , Lünern , Mühlhausen and Uelzen as well as the city of Unna ( Alte Heide ).

history

Werve part in the establishment of offices in the Prussian province of Westphalia to the Office Camen , then to the Office Unna Kamen in the district Hamm . On the occasion of the city of Hamm on April 1, 1901, the district became the district of Hamm. After an area expansion in 1929, this was renamed the Unna district in October 1930 . On April 1, 1910, Heeren and Werve merged. On January 1, 1968, the previous communities of Derne, Heeren-Werve, Methler, Rottum and Südkamen were merged with the city of Kamen. The previous Unna-Kamen office was dissolved.

In 1849 Werve had 319 inhabitants. In 1895 there were 571 and in 1987 1,800 inhabitants.

The state road L 663 connects Werve in the west with Kamen , Dortmund and Castrop-Rauxel and in the east with Bramey , Flierich and Osterflierich . The state road L 665 leads in the north to Altenbögge and Pelkum and in the south via Alte Heide to Königsborn and Unna .

On the district road K 36 you get to Lünern and the federal road B 1 and on the district road K 37 to Mühlhausen and also the federal road B 1.
