The Renault R29 was a Formula 1 racing car and Renault’s emergency car in the 2009 season . It was powered by a Renault RS27 V8 engine. The Kinetic Energy Recovery System was used, which was otherwise only used in the BMW Sauber F1.09 , Ferrari F60 and the McLaren MP4-24 .

The Renault R29 was presented on January 19, 2009 at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve . Bob Bell (technical director) and his assistant James Allison as well as Pat Symonds (chief engineer), Tim Densham (chief designer) and Dirk de Beer (chief aerodynamicist) were responsible for the racing car .

The racing car was designed by Fernando Alonso , Nelson Piquet Jr. and Romain Grosjean drove. The best result with the racing car was third place.
