history

The parish registers of the village first mention Wiebelsdorf in 1333, Pfersdorf in 1337 and Wöhlsdorf in 1392. The location on the Auma river required the construction of a water mill , which was only mentioned in 1620 on the occasion of the miller's wedding. It was equipped with a grinder, oil mill and cutting mill. In addition to the water drive, a steam engine provided the necessary power. From 1960 the miller took over the grinding for the LPG . Until 1973, the grinder and cutting mill were used as needed. The dilapidated cutting mill was demolished in 1980. In 1990 the previous owner took over the buildings, modernized them and built apartments. He also runs agriculture.

During the Second World War 111 " Eastern workers " had to do forced labor in the quarry of the Grünsteinwerke .

WIebelsdorf initially belonged to the Neustadt an der Orla administrative district within the Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach and came to the Gera district in the newly formed state of Thuringia in 1920 and to the Zeulenroda district in the Gera district in 1952 to the district of Greiz as part of the district reform of 1994 came.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Pfersdorf and Wöhlsdorf were incorporated.

Until January 3, 1996 Wiebelsdorf was a member of the administrative community Weidatal , after that the community belonged to the administrative community Auma-Weidatal . On December 1, 2011, the city of Auma and the communities of Braunsdorf , Göhren-Döhlen , Staitz and Wiebelsdorf merged to form the rural community of Auma-Weidatal.
