The Neustadt an der Orla administrative district , also known as the 5th administrative district , existed from 1850 to 1922 in the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach and in the Free State of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach . The district headquarters were in Neustadt an der Orla . The area of the former administrative district today largely belongs to the district of Greiz and the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .
history
The Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach was divided into five administrative districts in 1850, which were comparable in size to rural districts . The fifth administrative district comprised the Neustädter Kreis of the Grand Duchy. The exclaves Thränitz , Rußdorf , Förthen and Teichwolframsdorf also belonged to the administrative district .
In 1918 the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach became the Free State of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach , which in turn became part of the State of Thuringia on May 1, 1920 . During a comprehensive regional reform, the Neustadt an der Orla administrative district was dissolved in 1922:
- The town of Berga / Elster and the communities of Albersdorf , Clodra , Culmitzsch , Dittersdorf , Dörtendorf , Eula , Friedmannsdorf , Göhren , Großdraxdorf , Großkundorf , Katzendorf , Kleinkundorf , Krölpa , Markersdorf b. Berga , Merkendorf , Muntscha , Obergeißendorf , Piesigitz , Silberfeld , Staitz , Stelzendorf , Teichwolframsdorf , Untergeißendorf , Waltersdorf , Wenigenauma , Wernsdorf , Wolfersdorf , Zadelsdorf , Zickra b. Auma and Zickra b. Berga came to the district of Greiz .
- The municipality of Oberrenthendorf came to the district of Jena-Roda
- The municipalities of Daumitsch , Döbritz , Grobengereuth , Keila , Kleindembach , Kolba , Langendembach , Laskau , Nimritz , Oberoppurg , Oppurg , Rehmen and Solkwitz came to the district of Saalfeld .
- The municipalities of Bucha , Chursdorf , Dreba , Förthen , Knau , Läwitz , Moßbach , Neudeck , Posen , Schöndorf , Tausa and Volkmannsdorf came to the Schleiz district .
- All other cities and communities came to the district of Gera .
