The Neustadt an der Orla administrative district , also known as the 5th administrative district , existed from 1850 to 1922 in the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach and in the Free State of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach . The district headquarters were in Neustadt an der Orla . The area of the former administrative district today largely belongs to the district of Greiz and the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

history

The Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach was divided into five administrative districts in 1850, which were comparable in size to rural districts . The fifth administrative district comprised the Neustädter Kreis of the Grand Duchy. The exclaves Thränitz , Rußdorf , Förthen and Teichwolframsdorf also belonged to the administrative district .

In 1918 the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach became the Free State of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach , which in turn became part of the State of Thuringia on May 1, 1920 . During a comprehensive regional reform, the Neustadt an der Orla administrative district was dissolved in 1922:
