Wiersdorf is a district of the municipality Wallstawe in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt , Germany.
geography
The Altmark Wiersdorf, a round square village with a church, is about 5 kilometers northwest of Wallstawe and about 15 kilometers southwest of the district town of Salzwedel . The Salzwedeler Dumme flows north .
history
The first documentary mention of Wiersdorf as ville wydersdorpe comes from the year 1349, when conventuals of the Diesdorf monastery made donations for the purchase of Wiersdorf.
In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the place is listed as Viderstorp . The Diesdorf monastery owned there.
Incorporations
On April 1, 1935, the communities of Wiersdorf and Deutschhorst (with the district Nipkendey) in the district of Salzwedel were merged to form a community called Wiershorst .
On June 1, 1973, the municipality of Wiershorst from the Salzwedel district was incorporated into the municipality of Ellenberg . So the districts of Deutschhorst and Nipkendey came to Ellenberg.
When Ellenberg merged with other communities to form the new community of Wallstawe on July 1, 2009, the district of Wiersdorf finally became part of Wallstawe.

The Protestant Christians from Wiersdorf belong to the parish Dehre, which belonged to the parish of Dehre. Today the parish belongs to the parish Osterwohle-Dehre of the parish of Salzwedel in the Provostspengel Stendal-Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
Culture and sights
- A residential courtyard on the village square is a listed building.
- There is a small, modern chapel on the village square in Wiersdorf.
- The cemetery is southwest of the village.
- In Wiersdorf there is a memorial for the fallen of the First World War, a stepped field stone base with a boulder on top.
