Wilsberg and the Murder Without a Corpse is the fourth episode in the Wilsberg television series . It was first broadcast on February 3, 2001 on ZDF . Directed by Dennis Satin , the screenplay was written by Jürgen Kehrer .

action

Wilsberg is commissioned by Mr. Manstetten from Münsterschen Versicherung AG to shadow Herbert Schering, the owner of a car repair shop based in the Münster harbor . He is suspected of faking night robberies on his clients' cars parked in his yard in order to capitalize on his vandalism insurance. Wilsberg borrows the car of his former classmate and good friend Manfred Höch and smashes a headlight to simulate an accident whose property damage is to be repaired at Schering. Wilsberg found that, contrary to the presumption of his insurance company, Schering did not want to deal with the insurance fraud he was offering. In the workshop yard, Wilsberg met Sigi Blisko, the landlady of the Pier House, a restaurant on the harbor, who took him back to town.

Höch, who works at the building department in Münster and is responsible for the approval process for the port project Kreativkai of Hafenbau GmbH, meanwhile meets with the architect of the port project Heiner Geisbach for a press conference at the port.

At night, Wilsberg watches over the car mechanic's yard and watches two men who gain access to the property in order to demolish Höch's car and other cars. He follows them to the office of the architect Geisbach, whose building Sigi Blisko is just leaving. In the office he finds Heiner Geisbach lying lifeless on the floor and realizes that he is dead. He then calls Commissioner Anna Springer and is, in turn, knocked down from behind. When Commissioner Springer arrives at the scene, Wilsberg cannot remember who knocked him down. In addition, the body Wilsberg talked about on the phone has now disappeared.

Manstetten releases Wilsberg from his investigation. However, this makes the private investigator prick up his ears, who now suspects an intrigue by Hafenbau GmbH against the workshop owner, since Schering does not want to sell his property and thus stands in the way of the implementation of the port project.

The architect's body reappears in the harbor basin, where it had been weighed down with a spare tire that was stolen from Schering's workshop.

With the help of Höch, Wilsberg succeeds in gaining access to secret documents of the port project from the safe of the planning department Tumbrink of the city of Münster, who is also Höch's superior, from which the presumed cooperation between the insurance company and Hafenbau GmbH emerges.

Wilsberg's investigations show that Schering's daughter Katharina was able to persuade the architect Geisbach to meet, at which she wanted to convince the architect to forego Schering's property. Geisbach, on the other hand, insisted on adhering to the contract, especially since the share of Schering's separated wife had already been transferred to him. Katharina knew this because she had found the document in Geisbach's safe when she was looking there for her father's debt transfer. After Katharina had strangled the architect, she called her partner so that he could help her to make the dead man disappear. To do this, the two of them fetched a pickup truck from their father's workshop, drove the corpse to the docks and weighed down the corpse with the car's spare wheel.

Katharina and her partner are arrested by Commissioner Springer.
