Wojciech Jasiński

Wojciech Stefan Jasiński (born April 1, 1948 in Gostynin ) is a Polish politician who was CEO of the petroleum company PKN Orlen from December 2015 to February 2018 . From 2001 to 2015 he was a member of the Sejm in the IV, V, VI, VII and VIII electoral terms and Minister for the Treasury in the PiS government under Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz / Jarosław Kaczyński .

In 1972 he finished his law studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw .

After studying law, he worked as a legal advisor . From 1972 to 1973 he was a civil servant in the Płock branch of Narodowy Bank Polski (National Bank of Poland - NBP). From 1973 to 1980 he was an employee of the City Office in Płock, among other things as head of the Department of Internal Affairs. From 1976 to 1982 he was a member of the Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza (Polish United Workers' Party - PZPR). From 1980 to 1986 he worked in the general consumer cooperative Zgoda in Płock. From 1984 to 1985 he was employed by the Rural Transport Cooperative in Płock and from 1985 to 1986 at the Treasury in Płock.

In the second half of the 80s he emigrated to the USA . After returning to Poland in 1990, he took up a job at the Voivodeship Office in Płock. From 1990 to 1991 he was the delegate of the Government Plenipotentiary for Reform of Local Self-Government in the Płock Voivodeship . After 1992 he was employed by the Najwyższa Izba Kontroli ( National Audit Office - NIK), first as director of the delegation of the NIK in Warsaw , after 1994 as director of the working group for finance and budget, and finally the department for the state budget. From 1997 to 2000 he worked in the Srebrna company as a member and chairman of the board, working with politicians from the national-conservative party Porozumienie Centrum ("Center Alliance", PC), including Jarosław Kaczyński , Adam Lipiński and Przemysław Gosiewski .

From September 2000 to July 2001 he was Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Justice under Minister Lech Kaczyński . Since 2001 he has been a member of the Sejm for the constituency of Płock on the list of Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice - PiS). During the fifth term he was briefly Chairman of the Public Finance Commission. From February 15, 2006 to September 7, 2007 and from September 11, 2007 to November 16, 2007 he was Minister for the State Treasury in the governments of Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz and Jarosław Kaczyński.

In the next eight years he was twice a member of the Sejm.

After the parliamentary elections in 2015 , in which his party PiS achieved an absolute majority, Jasiński was appointed the new CEO of the state-owned oil company PKN Orlen on December 16, 2015 . On February 5, 2018, he was replaced by Daniel Obajtek .
