Wolfgang Doberauer

Wolfgang Doberauer (born July 15, 1921 in Groß Pawlowitz , South Moravia ; † October 10, 2013 in Rückersdorf (Middle Franconia) ) was a German business lawyer.

Life

Doberauer's parents were the farmer Gustav Doberauer and his wife from Moravia . Wolfgang Doberauer spent childhood with two of his five siblings on the Dallwitz estate leased from Baron Riedl von Riedelstein . Immediately after passing his Abitur with distinction, he was called up for the Reich Labor Service in Norway , which was occupied by the Germans .

Wehrmacht and World War II

After a semester of study at the Karl Ferdinand University in Prague , he had to enlist in the armed forces in early 1941 . In the cavalry family tradition, he reported to Panzerjäger Department 1 of the 1st Infantry Division . It was moved to the Eastern Front via its home garrison, Allenstein . In the Voronezh-Voroshilovgrad operation in 1942, he was wounded in close combat and then flown out. There was also typhus . After several months of hospital treatment , he was ordered to the replacement regiment in Allenstein. After the officer training there, he returned to the front as a platoon leader . With the decimated company he took part in the retreat through all of East Prussia . Wounded for the second time in March 1945 and awarded the two Iron Crosses , he came on one of the last hospital ships from Pillau to Copenhagen , from there on a hospital train to a hospital in Flensburg .

Studies and professional activity

After the end of the war he was able to enroll as a law student at Christian-Albrechts-University and in December 1945 he was able to attend the first lectures. As one of the first members of the Collegium Albertinum , he became a Corps student at Palaiomarchia-Masovia in 1950 . After the first legal exam, he went through legal clerkship in Schleswig-Holstein and London . After the assessor examination , he completed a two-year trainee training at Unilever and received his doctorate in 1953 with the dissertation § 49 of the Criminal Code for the German Reich at the University of Kiel with the grade magna cum laude for Dr. iur. At Unilever, he got the banker Karl Blessing as an advisor. After two years on the board of a 50% Unilever subsidiary and five years in Duisburg , Unilever called him back to the German regional headquarters in Hamburg , where he held the position of chairman of the new food executive. When the company structures were to be fundamentally changed, he followed Gustav Schickedanz's call and became chairman of the board of the United Paper Works in Nuremberg and a holding company for the entire group. Klaus Schwab appointed him to the inner management team of the World Economic Forum . After Schickedanz's death, he retired from operational business when he reached the age limit. He gradually dismantled his supervisory board mandates. In the USA he bought and operated a farm .

Honorary positions

Doberauer was chairman of the sponsoring association of the International Music Academy Schloss Pommersfelden . He was a member of the Munich men's club and was involved in Rotary International .
