The 2002/03 season was the 21st edition of the highest English women's ice hockey league , the Women's Premier Ice Hockey League . The league is run by the English Ice Hockey Association , the English association under the umbrella of the British ice hockey association Ice Hockey UK . The winner received the Chairman's Cup . For the first time ever, a non-English club won the championship with the Welsh.

Initially, all teams played a simple round with a return leg. The four best reached the semifinals. A relegation did not take place. The last placed rose to Division I, the play-off winner of Division I rose directly to the Premier League.

Division 1
The Women's National Ice Hockey League is the second tier of the English women 's ice hockey league after the Premier League. Division 1 is the highest class in it. It is divided into two regional groups. A double round was played in the north group and a single round in the south group.
- Final round
In a final tournament, the two best of the two groups played for victory in Division 1. The games lasted 3 × 15 minutes. The winner rose to the Premier League.
