history

The place name is derived from a man named Wulfher or Wulfhard, who may have been the founder of the place. The first mention of a church is dated to 1303.

In the GDR, the LPG plant production Wulfersdorf gave the place agricultural importance. At the entrance to the village there was a drying plant for green fodder, potatoes and grain from 1966, which until 1990 belonged to VEG Horst Burghof and later to the Hanseatic City of Hamburg. After four to five years of negotiations, it was decided to demolish the asbestos-contaminated facility. The dismantling work began in December 2014. The costs were put at 83,000 euros, of which 63 percent were promised from funding from the European Union and 37 percent from the city of Wittstock and the community of participants in the Wulfersdorf land planning procedure.
