Yimmi Chará , full name Yimmi Javier Chará Zamora , (born April 2, 1992 in Cali ) is a Colombian football player . It is used in the position of a right winger , alternatively it is also central or left. His strong foot is the right one.

Yimmi Chará began his career in the junior division of Centauros Villavicencio . At the club, Chará made the leap into the professional squad in 2009. In the second Colombian division , he is said to have made nine appearances in the season.

At the beginning of 2010 Chará moved to Deportes Tolima . The first competitive game for Tolima and thus also in Colombia's Categoría Primera A played Chará on September 19, 2010, the 10th matchday of the 2010/11 season, against América de Cali . In the game he was substituted on for Armando Carrillo in the 61st minute . In the 2012 season Chará was able to establish himself as a regular player. That year he also scored his first goal for Tolima . In the Copa Colombia , the club played against Deportivo Pereira on February 22, 2012 . In the game Chará was in the starting line-up and scored the goal to make it 1-0 in the 16th minute (final score-2-0). In March of that year Chará also scored his first goal in Primera A. In the away game against Real Cartagena he scored in the 68th minute to make it 3-1. In 2012 Chará also made his debut at international club level. In the Copa Sudamericana 2012 , Tolima met Deportivo Lara at home on July 29, 2012 in the first round of the competition . In the game Chará was substituted on in the 78th minute. Chará scored his first goal on the plane a year later in the 2013 Copa Libertadores . In the group game against Independiente Santa Fe , he scored in the 51st minute to lead 1-0 (final score 1: 2). With the club, Chará, now captain of the team, was able to lead them to win the 2014 national cup .

After winning this title, Chará moved to CF Monterrey in Mexico at the turn of the year 2014/15 . The first Liga MX game for Monterrey was played by Chará on January 12th, 2015. On the first day of the 2015 Clausura he was substituted on for his compatriot Alexander Mejía in the 72nd minute in the game against Universidad de Guadalajara . On the eleventh day of the competition, Chará scored his first league goal. On March 21, in the game against Club León , he scored the 5-1 final score.

Chará returned to Colombia after just under six months. He came on loan to Atlético Nacional . Chará did not return to Monterrey for the 2016 season. He was loaned out again, his new station was the Dorados de Sinaloa . The loan ended after the 2016 Clausura and Chará played the 2016 Apertura for Monterrey for the rest of the year . Chará also played regularly for his club in the 2017 Clausura .

In June 2017 Chará moved back to Colombia. He signed a three-year contract with Atlético Junior . The transfer fee was $ 4.5 million, the highest amount a Colombian club paid for a player until then.

On June 12, 2018, his contract was signed with Atlético Mineiro in Brazil . This was given a term of five years. Chará kicked off the Brazilian Série A on July 19, 2018, the 13th matchday of the 2018 season in the away game against Grêmio Porto Alegre . In that game he was in the starting line-up. In the total of 22 games that he still played in the championship, he only managed one goal, but was the second best assist in the competition. Chará scored his goal on matchday 14. In the away game on July 22, 2018 against eventual champions Palmeiras São Paulo , he scored the 2-2 equalizer in the 81st minute (final score: 3-2 for Palmeiras).

For the season Chará moved to the USA for the Portland Timbers . At Portland he meets his brother Diego, who is active for the club in 2011.

National team

He was called to the Colombian national team for the first time on October 8, 2014 by José Pékerman for international friendly matches against El Salvador and Canada . Chará made his first appearance in the national team on October 10, 2014 in the game against El Salvador. In the game he was substituted on for Carlos Carbonero in the 72nd minute . Chará then played other friendly matches for the team and took part in qualifying games for the 2018 World Cup. Chará was also part of the 35-man selection in preparation for the World Cup, but did not find a place in the final squad.

After the World Cup, Chará was called back into the squad. In the friendly against Venezuela on September 7, 2018, he scored his first goal for the national team. In the game he was substituted on for Juan Cuadrado in the 75th minute and scored in the 90th minute to win the 1-2.
