Yuri Kanō ( Japanese 加納 由 理 Kanō Yuri ; born October 27, 1978 in Takasago ) is a Japanese long-distance runner .

In 1999 she won over 10,000 m silver at the Universiade .

In 2003 she was fifth in the Miyazaki Half Marathon and ninth in the Japanese Company Half Marathon Championship, in 2004 seventh in the Kagawa Marugame Half Marathon and in 2005 second in the Matsue Half Marathon. The following year followed a second place at the Azalea Trail Run and a fourth place each in the New York City Half Marathon and the San'yō Road Run .

In 2007, she finished third in the Osaka Women's Marathon in 2:24:43 h on her debut over the 42.195 km distance . In the same year she was again fourth in New York City and won the Hokkaidō Marathon . In 2008 she finished third in the Nagoya Marathon , won the Sapporo Half Marathon and the San José Half Marathon, and came third in the New York City Half Marathon. At the last edition of the Tokyo International Women's Marathon , she finished second in 2:24:27 h.

In 2009 she finished second in the Kagawa Marugame Half Marathon and eleventh in the London Marathon . At the marathon distance of the World Athletics Championships in Berlin , she finished seventh in 2:26:57 h and together with Yoshimi Ozaki and Yoshiko Fujinaga won bronze in the ranking of the marathon world cup . In the New York City Marathon , she had a bad fall after 5 km, but struggled through and came in ninth place. A month later, she won silver in the East Asian Games half marathon in Hong Kong .

In 2010 she won the Nagoya Marathon . and the Sapporo Half Marathon. She finished seventh in the Asian Games marathon in Guangzhou .

After suffering from injuries for a long time, she started in Nagoya in 2012, but did not get past 27th place.

Yuri Kanō is 1.52 meters tall and weighs 40 kg. The graduate of Ritsumeikan University started for the Shiseido company team from 2001 to 2007 and then switched to the Second Wind AC team . In 2011 she returned to Shiseido .
