history

It is believed that Zahořany already existed in the Middle Ages. The first written mention of the village belonging to the Točník Chamber of Commerce took place only in 1525 in connection with a Kateřina Pytlíková from Zahořany. Emperor Ferdinand I sold the Točník reign in 1557 to Johann Ferdinand Popel von Lobkowicz . His grandson Georg divided the Točník rule in 1590, while Zahořany became subservient to the royal court . In 1593 he lost all property because of an intrigue against Emperor Rudolf II . In 1594 the confiscated Točník lordship was combined with the Zbiroh lordship and the royal court to form a cameraman whose captain had his seat in the Zbiroh castle. The administration and the income of the Königshofer share of the cameraman Zbirow were assigned to the kk Montan-Aerar in 1834 as kk Montan-Herrschaft or Berg-Cameralherrschaft Königshof. It remained subordinate to the kk Oberamt Zbirow, but was given an administrator.

In 1846 the village of Zahořan in the Berauner district consisted of 20 houses with 164 inhabitants. The one-layer Auf dem Weinberg or Na Winicy, consisting of a Dominikal house, lay apart. The parish was Počapl . The residents lived from agriculture. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village remained subordinate to the Imperial and Royal Montan rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Zahořany / Zahorzan 1850 with the hamlet Trubská a municipality in the judicial district of Beroun. In 1868 the village was assigned to the Hořowitz district . At the end of the 19th century, the mining of iron ore began in the hills below the Děd. In 1908 Trubská broke away from Zahořany. In 1936 the community Zahořany was assigned to the Okres Beroun. During the German occupation , Zahořany was incorporated into the royal court in 1944. After the end of the Second World War, the incorporation was lifted again in 1945. On January 1, 1980, Zahořany was incorporated into Beroun as the Beroun-Zahořany district . On November 24, 1990, Zahořany broke away from Beroun and formed its own community. In 1991 the village had 201 inhabitants, in the 2001 census there were 218 people in the 84 houses in Zahořany. Zahořany has been part of Králův Dvůr since 2003.
