Anthony James Pawson CH OC OOnt FRS FRSC (born October 18 1952) is a British-born Canadian microbiologist whose research has revolutionized the understanding of signal transduction, and the molecular mechanisms by which cells respond to external cues.

Born in Maidstone, England, he received an MA in biochemistry from the University of Cambridge and received a Ph.D. in 1976 from King's College London.
