(2837) Griboedov ( 1971 TJ 2 ; 1973 AD 1 ; 1974 HD 2 ; 1979 HZ 2 ; 1981 VD 1 ) is an approximately twelve-kilometer asteroid of the outer main belt , which was discovered on October 13, 1971 by the Russian (then: Soviet Union ) astronomer Lyudmila Ivanovna Tschernych was discovered at the Crimean Observatory (Nautschnyj branch) on the Crimean peninsula ( IAU code 095). It belongs to the Koronis family , a group of asteroids that after (158) Koronis is named

(2837) Griboedov was named after the diplomat and playwright Alexander Sergejewitsch Gribojedow (1795-1829). His work Understanding Creates Suffering is the most frequently performed play in Russia.
