(3006) Livadia ( 1979 SF 11 ; 1956 RQ ; 1964 YA ; 1977 DT 6 ) is an approximately eight kilometers large asteroid of the inner main belt , which was discovered on September 24, 1979 by the Russian (then: Soviet Union ) astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych in the Crimea. Observatory (Nautschnyj branch) on the Crimean peninsula ( IAU code 095) was discovered. It belongs to the Hertha family , a group of asteroids named after (135) Hertha .
designation
(3006) Livadia was named after the urban-type settlement Livadija . It is located in the city of Yalta , after which the asteroid (1475) Yalta was named.
