Éric Bernard (born August 24, 1964 in Martigues near Marseille ) is a former French racing driver . He started in Formula 1 between 1989 and 1994 .

Career

Bernard made his Formula 1 debut at the French Grand Prix in the 1989 season for the Larrousse team . Bernard also drove for Larrousse in a total of 31 Grands Prix in 1990 and 1991 . His best result for Larrousse was fourth place in the 1990 British Grand Prix .

After an accident at the Japanese Grand Prix in 1991, Bernard paused for two years before he competed 13 times for Ligier in 1994 and once in his last Formula 1 race for Lotus . At the German Grand Prix , Bernard achieved the best placement of his career with third place.

Overall, Bernard was able to collect 10 World Championship points from 45 starts.
