Austrian Handball Championship 2009/10

The 50th season of the Austrian handball championship began in August 2010 and ended in June 2011. The reigning champions of the 2009/10 season A1 Bregenz could not defend the title. Masters became the Aon Fivers Margareten . All teams managed to stay up.

Handball League Austria

Ten teams are represented in the top division, the HLA. The championship was divided into several phases. In the main round, all teams played a simple round trip against each opponent. After that, the league was divided into two groups.

The first six teams played in the further rounds of the round to make it into the HLA semifinals, while the last four teams had to fight against the top four teams in the second division to stay in the league.
