Trophy of the ÖFB Cup since 2004.

The 2007/08 ÖFB Cup (actually ÖFB Amateur Cup 2007/08 ) was only played on an amateur basis due to the 2008 European Championship , since all 22 professional teams in the Bundesliga and the First League waived their participation on the recommendation of the ÖFB. However, the leading teams in particular were mostly not amateurs. The number of participants increased from 52 to 64 due to the associated discontinuation of registered clubs.

Contrary to the original plans, the final was not played in one game on neutral ground, but rather in a two-way round. The away goal rule applied.
