Łęgi (German Laack ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Police district ( Pölitzer district ) and is part of the Dobra ( Daber ) municipality .

Geographical location

Łęgi is located in eastern Western Pomerania on the south-eastern edge of the Ueckermünder Heide (Puszcza Wkrzańska), about 4 km north of the village of Dobra ( Daber ), 14 km west of the city of Police ( Pölitz ) and 16 km northwest of Stettin .

history

The village of Laack is a younger settlement that was created in the 19th century on a site called Laacke , which originally belonged to the Nassenheider estates and the Stolzenburg manor. Initially, around the middle of the 19th century, the Laak I and Laak II farms were built on the field of the village of Nassenheide .

At the beginning of the 1930s, the district of Laack had an area of ​​6.8 km², and there were a total of 31 residential buildings on the parish grounds on which Laack was the only place to live. In 1925 there were 230 inhabitants in the municipality of Laack, who were spread over 43 households.

Until 1939 the village of Laack was part of the Randow district in the Stettin administrative district of the Pomeranian province . On October 15, 1939, it was incorporated into the Ueckermünde district, where it remained until 1945.

After the Second World War , Laack was placed under Polish administration and renamed Łęgi .

religion

A large majority of the population present in Laack before 1945 belonged to the Protestant creed. Among the 230 inhabitants counted in 1925 there were 208 Protestants and 14 Catholics.
