Şevket Müftügil

Şevket Müftügil (born August 7, 1917 in Malatya , † April 22, 2015 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish lawyer . From 1978 to 1982 he was President of the Turkish Constitutional Court .

career

Müftügil completed his studies in 1940 at the Law Faculty of the University of Istanbul and then took up postgraduate studies at the University of Zurich from 1944 to 1951 .

In 1960 he was appointed a member of the Court of Cassation of Turkey and on October 5, 1970 a full member of the Constitutional Court. In 1975 he was elected Vice President and on October 24, 1978 President of the Constitutional Court. He held the office until August 7, 1982.
