The 1964/65 season was the 26th season of the 1st divisjon , the highest Norwegian ice hockey division . Champion was Vålerenga Ishockey for the fourth time in the club's history . Furuset Ishockey was relegated to the second division.

In the main round, each of the six teams played a total of ten games. The first placed in the main round became champions, the last placed rose to the second division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
