The 1989/90 season was the 51st season of the 1st divisjon , the highest Norwegian ice hockey division . Furuset IF became champion for the seventh time in the club's history .

mode

In the main round, each of the ten teams played a total of 36 games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
