The 1967/68 season was the 29th season of the 1st divisjon , the highest Norwegian ice hockey division . Vålerenga Ishockey became champion for the seventh time in the club's history . Green IL and Sparta Sarpsborg were relegated to the second division.

In the main round, each of the eight teams played a total of 14 games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the final round, in which the champions were played. The last two in the main round were relegated to the second division. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
