26½ (also twenty-six and a half ) is an anniversary album by the German new wave band Fehlfarben , which was released in 2006. It reached number 72 in the German charts.
backgrounds
Instead of celebrating the band's 25th anniversary, the band released this album for the 26½. Jubilee (9,589 days after the band was founded on November 24, 1979, actually on the 26th anniversary). It contains 17 new recordings of old Fehlfarben songs with various guest singers and musicians as well as a new song ("Chirurgie 2010"), which was sung by Peter Hein.
Peter Hein had previously sung the pilot tracks for each song, in case "that (sic!) The version could be taken with me if the guest failed". But since all versions landed on the album with the corresponding guest musician, Peter Hein can only be heard on a total of three songs. Rocko Schamoni and Farin Urlaub were among the musicians who had been invited to participate in the album but canceled .
production
Most of the music was recorded by Pyrolator in the atatak studio. Heaven is crying was recorded in Richard Pappik's Bongogott studio and Magnificent Obsession in the Wolfgang von Henko studio in Hamburg .
The vocal recordings also took place mainly in the atatak studio, with the exception of Grauschleier (by Alex Silva in Berlin ), (Geh) Du Ran Du Ran (by Brezel Göring in Paris ( Rue Saint-Denis )), Schlaflos Nachts (by Michael Mühlhaus) , Club of the beautiful mothers (by Michael Heilrath in area 03), Internationale (by Moses Schneider in the transporter room in Berlin) and alcohol (by Peta Devlin in the Soundgarden recording studio Hamburg)
The album was mixed mainly in Conny's studio by Marc Weis and in the atatak studio by Pyrolator.
