As Fells Connector Parkways a group of historic parkways in the Greater Boston in the state of Massachusetts of the United States designated. Specifically, these are parts of the streets The Fellsway , Fellsway East and Fellsway West in the two cities of Malden and Medford . The name Fells Connector Parkways refers to the fact that the associated roads connect the Mystic River Reservation and Middlesex Fells Reservation . Already laid out in 1895 by Charles Eliot and the Olmsted Brothers , they were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The road system is administered by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and is part of the Metropolitan Park System of Greater Boston .
