The area Beaver Brook Reservation is a 24 ha large State Park in Belmont and Waltham in the state of Massachusetts of the United States . The park is administered by the Department of Conservation and Recreation and is part of the Metropolitan Park System of Greater Boston . It is the first protected area to be designated by the then newly established Metropolitan Park Commission in 1893.
In the park there are various forest areas , wetlands and open sports fields , a cascading waterfall and an opportunity to tread water . In the 19th century, part of the park area belonged to Robert Morris Copeland , whose house can still be viewed in the park today. There is also a place where fabrics were milled in the 19th century .
The park can be explored on foot or on the bicycle paths , and fishing is also allowed. In addition, there are regular educational events on the premises.
