  • Imperial crisis of the 3rd century : The Roman emperor Probus has the usurper Proculus executed, who had been handed over to him the year before by his own men.
  • The Germanic tribes succeed in completely burning the Roman fleet on the Rhine . Their commander Bonosus (who is possibly fictional) proclaims himself the counter-emperor. After a protracted struggle, Emperor Probus succeeds in suppressing him. In the end, Bonosus hangs himself.
  • After his numerous campaigns to secure the external borders of the empire, Emperor Probus returns in a triumphal procession to the city of Rome .
  • First written mention of Tinizong .
