Politics and world events
- The Roman Empire and the Sassanid Empire are at war again. Caesar Galerius is defeated by King Narseh near Karrhai .
- September. Caesar Constantius I and Asclepiodotus cross the English Channel to retake breakaway Britain under Allectus . Asclepiodotus and Allectus meet near Calleva Atrebatum , in what is now Hampshire . The latter is killed in battle. Asclepiodotus then besieged Londinium , whereupon the resistance of the renegade legions collapses. The provinces in Roman Britain are redistributed: Britannia inferior and Britannia superior become Flavia Caesariensis , Britannia prima , Britannia secunda and Maxima Caesariensis .
