- September 28th : Procopius declares himself (counter) emperor of the Roman Empire . He quickly got the province of Thrace and later Bithynia as well as the generals Gomoarius and Agilo on his side.
- In the fight against far Gaul invading Alemanni the Roman army master falls Charietto , a Franke .

Disasters
- July 21 : According to tradition by the Roman historian Ammianus Marcellinus , a severe earthquake occurs off Crete , which triggers a tsunami in the eastern Mediterranean . Several thousand people die in the Nile Delta and Alexandria alone . Almost all cities in Crete are damaged or destroyed. Among other Phalasarna where the dock by tectonic uplift of the land mass six to nine feet dry falls .
