Course of the road

The A18 is an important road in Kazakhstan in the northeast of the country. The road is an east-west route from the city of Pavlodar via Sherbakty to the border with Russia .

Street description

The A18 begins in the larger city of Pavlodar on the Irtysh River and on the M38. Here, too, it crosses the A17. The A18 leads eastwards through flat and cultivated steppe past the city of Sherbakty to the border with Russia. On the Russian side it continues as R371 to Barnaul .

history

The A18 was renumbered in 2011. The route follows the Soviet road R371, which indirectly connected Barnaul with Pavlodar. In 1991 about a third of the route was in Kazakhstan and has been numbered as R371 for the past 20 years. In 2011 there was a major renumbering with new A numbers.
