The A34 is a trunk road in Kazakhstan , in the southwest of the country. The road leads on a north-south route along the Caspian Sea from Schetibai to the border with Turkmenistan .
Street description
The A34 begins in Schetibai on the A33 , which comes from the port city of Aqtau . The road first heads east to the city of Shangaosen , the largest city on the route, and then heads south through the desert to the Turkmenistan border . The road runs through a remote area. On the Turkmen side it will be continued as R18 .
history
The street is part of the European route 121 . The A34 was renumbered in 2011. It is the only connection between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan and therefore of strategic importance. It is the only paved road along the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea.
