The A12 is an important road in the far north of Kazakhstan . The road is a north-south stretch from Petropavl to the border with Russia and the country's northernmost trunk road.
Street description
The A12 begins a few kilometers west of the city of Petropawl on the M51 , the transit route from Chelyabinsk to Omsk (in Russia since 2010 R254 Irtysh ). The route runs to the left of the Ishim River to the north through the steppe rich in lakes , past the larger village of Sokolowka , until it reaches the state border with Russia north of Scheljakowo. On the Russian side, it continues first as regional road 71A-1109, later 71A-1011 to Ishim, where there is a connection to the federal trunk road R402 Tyumen - Omsk.
history
The A12 received its number in 2011. Before that, like the Russian section, it was numbered R403. The R403 was originally 153 km long, 91 km of which is now on the territory of the Russian Oblast of Tyumen .
