Course and general
The A28 begins in Oral on the A29 . It runs to the south parallel to the western bank of the Urals , which is the border between Europe and Asia , so it is in Europe for its entire length. The landscape in the north is a cultivated steppe around Oral, the southern part of the route leads through a dry desert. Along the route there are numerous settlements that arose due to the proximity of the Urals. At Tschapajew , the A31 branches off to the west as the only major side road between Atyrau and Oral.
The road ends north of Atyrau on the A27 .
The road has two lanes.
