The A11 is a trunk road in Kazakhstan in the east of the country. The road forms a connection between Semei and the border with Russia .
Street description
The A11 begins in Semei, a large city on the Irtysh River . Here it crosses the M38, the primary north-south axis in eastern Kazakhstan. The route runs northeast through dry steppe , partly forested, especially the first part after Semei. The route is flat and there are no major cities between Semei and the border with Russia. On the Russian side, it continues to Barnaul as the A349.
history
The A11 was renumbered in 2011, replacing the former Soviet A349 road that still exists today in Russia. The A11 has always been an important link. It is the direct connection between the large cities of Semei (formerly Semipalatinsk) and Barnaul . The area is important for agriculture, both in Kazakhstan and Siberia .
