This list shows the highways in Kazakhstan .

Systematics

The highways of national ("republican") importance are divided into three groups, the names of which are distinguished by a code letter:

  • М - international highways; their names and kilometers were retained from the highway network of the Soviet Union
  • A - trunk roads between the main administrative, cultural and economic centers of Kazakhstan and the neighboring states as well as roads of strategic military importance
  • R ( Cyrillic Р) - other (regional) highways of national importance

Roads of local importance are assigned to the areas of Kazakhstan and have the code letter K followed by a letter that refers to the corresponding area (see # code letters for local roads ).
