action

The Cologne Cathedral is threatening to collapse. It is so serious that the city of Cologne in the UNESCO already applied for the name change - in "heaps next to the station." By chance the archivist Sebastian Hellmann discovers an old text that proclaims the salvation of the cathedral. The coconut-sized diamond marakunda , which had given strength in a supporting pillar, was stolen in a fire and is now in Africa . Without further ado, Sebastian is sent to South Africa to bring the Marakunda back. What he does not know, however, is that many other characters are also targeting diamonds and are on their heels. Sebastian gets support from the adventurer Alex Jansen, who is one of the few people who accompany you through all dangers. Hellmann's persecutors include Igbur Mahrabi, the son of the Indian diamond mogul, and the rarely sober pilot Vicky. The idiot duo Dragan and Alder accidentally grabbed an unwanted co-driver. The thief Mara has to face the love of a lion, and the Cologne social worker Boris Penske runs the risk of becoming the main course of a cannibal people .

Eventually, Sebastian and Alex arrive at the yoga cave where they have to face a quiz master. You have to answer all the questions up to the “diamond question” to get the diamond and not end up in the cave as a skeleton and skull decoration like many others before them.

criticism

TV feature film describes African Race - The Crazy Hunt for the Marakunda as “completely senseless and infantile . But it is fun, because here with relish and fast-paced African film clichés are dragged through the cocoa and classics like The Invisible Third or Indiana Jones are teased. If not much is possible today thanks to a thick head - this is possible.

Quotemeter.de critic Julian Miller describes the film as a successful start to the television year 2008.
