The ACO Severin Ahlmann GmbH & Co. KG is the lead company of the ACO Group .
ACO is a manufacturer of construction elements for civil engineering , building construction , gardening and landscaping , building services , wastewater treatment and agricultural construction. The main products are systems and components made of polymer concrete , stainless steel , cast iron and plastic for the drainage of buildings and properties. Further business areas are sports facility construction , amphibian protection systems , cast iron and special stainless steel construction. The group of companies has its own data center and claims to be one of the world market leaders in the field of drainage solutions.
The company was founded in 1946 by Josef-Severin Ahlmann on the site of the Carlshütte (iron foundry) in Büdelsdorf . Today Hans-Julius Ahlmann and his son Iver Ahlmann manage the group of companies.
Companies of the ACO Group are now represented in 40 countries on four continents. There are 30 production facilities in fifteen countries. The group employs 5,000 people in more than 40 countries worldwide (as of February 2019).
Cultural engagement
In 1999, Hans-Julius Ahlmann, managing partner of the ACO Group, founded the art exhibition NordArt together with an artist friend . According to its own statement, the exhibition with over 250 artists from all over the world is one of the largest exhibitions of contemporary art in Northern Europe. With the arrival of the musicians from the international orchestra academy of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , the ACO Group's site has become a public place for exhibitions, concerts, readings, theater and film screenings. In 2011 the ACO Group was awarded the German Culture Prize for the “Carlshütte artwork”.
